A movie adaptation of The Shack is currently in production and will be released by Lionsgate Films on August 16, 2016. Sam Worthington (Avatar, Clash Of The Titans) and Octavia Spencer (The Help) will star in it. The book has sold over 25 million copies and was #1 on the New York Times Best Sellers list for forty-nine consecutive weeks. The demand for this debut novel sparked international attention and has been translated into thirty-four languages.
